Energy and Environmental Advisory
This topic has been on the agenda in several recent West Vincent Environmental Advisory Council meetings for which I was in attendance. During the EAC discussions it was clear that there were more questions than answers, especially with regards to how renewable energy initiatives would affect township residents.
The Chester County Commissioners have established a new County Advisory Board to advise on Environmental and Energy issues. It is expected that renewable energy issues will be an important area of discussion taken up by the new Board.
Obviously, this is a complex issue, and clearly a regional issue, especially for real-estate intensive solutions like large solar and wind installations. The new County Board will consist of representatives from businesses, energy initiatives, municipalities, land conservancies, utility companies, and County departments.
